Join the Museum’s learning team for one of our special events or activity days, all designed to engage children and their families on learning more about the museum and our collections. Click on the links below for further information.
Mini Aces Club (under 5s)
Run on the 2nd Thursday of every month (term time only)
Mini Aces club brings the Museum to life through stories, craft, song and dance. With a focus on different objects, stories and exhibits each month, children will discover the treasures we have in our collection and build self-confidence in a new and exciting environment.
Two 45 minute sessions run from 10.30-11.15 and 11.30-12.15 in the Art gallery (next to the Sunbeam cafe)
Each session costs £2.00 per child - Adults are free for activity (pay on the day)*

During the school holidays and at some of our major events the learning team run workshops for families. In the past we have made windsocks, discovered the secrets of Paper Marbling and even helped the resistance decode WW2 messages.

Children’s Photography Courses
In this series of photography courses developed specially for children and run by Sharp Shots Photo Club, your child will learn more about composition, the mechanics of their camera and how to take a great photograph.
